This is how you maneuver through GroupMap
The basic principle
We use the Zoom video conference and the web-based "pinboard" GroupMap in parallel. A large screen, or better two screens, is therefore very useful for smooth work.

Good picture and good sound
  • Use proper calculator. Mobile phones and tablets should only be used as a second device for non-linked sessions.
  • Big screens or external screens help a lot.
  • Check your camera.
  • portrait format?
  • good light?
  • Participation without a camera is impolite.
  • Check your microphone and speakers.
  • Use a headset if possible, it helps everyone.
  • If you're new to Zoom, practice.
  • Stay undisturbed during the meeting.
  • Mute your microphone when you are not speaking.
  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
  • LAN (i.e. a connection with an Ethernet cable) is usually 10 times faster and more secure than W-LAN
  • If you don't have enough bandwidth, change locations.

IMPORTANT: Speaking in an online session
In general, your microphone should be switched off if you don't want to say anything, otherwise there will be a lot of background noise. as soon as you know you want to contribute, you should unlock the mic as the switching moment may take a second or two. Zoom has the awesome feature of using the spacebar as a "talk button" that releases the mic for as long as the button is held down. However, this has changed in working with two systems NOTtried and tested, as the keyboard always operates the last program used. so if something was last entered in GroupMap and then the space bar was pressed, naturally arises NO microphone release. In our workshops, the microphone should therefore be switched on and off again with the mouse on the microphone symbol.
